April 18, 2019 the opening of the ANTONOV GALLERY ANTONOV GALLERY in St. Petersburg. The gallery is named after the Russian sculptor Andrey Antonov (1944-2011, Sverdlovsk-Yekaterinburg) and was created by the Andrey Antonov Foundation in 2013 in Yekaterinburg.

False, false, crooked mirrors... Distortion! Deformation? Lie?! The first mirrors appeared 6 thousand years BC. These were pieces of bronze or obsidian polished to a shine, later, the best, from gold or silver plates. And only in 1240, when they learned how to blow glass vessels, did mirrors in the modern sense appear. But, they were crooked, and the reason for this was the production technology. The master blew a large ball, then poured molten tin into the tube (there was no other way to combine metal with glass), and when the tin spread evenly over the inner surface and cooled down, the ball was broken into pieces. It is obvious that the image turned out to be distorted... A distorted image, as an artistic device, has become conscious and systematically applied in European art since the end of the 19th century. Conditioned by the artist's worldview, deformation (fr. deformation-distortion) in the visual arts - a deviation from the natural form of the visual image, modification and transformation, is associated with the properties of visual perception, features of style and technique, as well as with the individual vision of the artist!
